Lyric Piece (Homage to Grieg) explores melodic variation using adapted forms of the Xhosa bow scale, with an adapted uhadi accompaniment. It pays homage to Edvard Grieg's ten books of harmonically advanced Lyric Pieces, arranged like Afrikosmos (and Mikrokosmos) in order of increasing difficulty.
