Giyani is a town in Limpopo Province, South Africa, home of dear friends Musa Nkuna and Tintswalo Khosa. This piece paints a portrait of them and their family, and of Giyani itself, and is therefore partly based on a Tsonga children's song transcribed by Thomas F Johnston. It uses a pentatonic scale with the pitches G A C D E.
