Programme note
The Chorale was a common form in JS Bach’s time, settings of Lutheran hymn tunes, though nowadays the chorale may be any piece which is chordal and slow. MMM refers to the Sotho composer Michael Mosoeu Moerane, who song ‘Sylvia’ is briefly quoted.
