Programme note
Self Delectative Song is a laid-back, easy-going piece characterised by melodic variation, changes of time-signature and interlocking. It is based on the Tswana bow song 'Ngana Wu Lela'. Andrew Tracey once told me that his father, Hugh Tracey, had created the classification 'self delectative song' for a number of less obviously classifiable songs he had recorded in the field.
