Programme note
High Fives uses simple melodic cells which are rhythmically varied as when ringing changes. This was inspired by the bells I heard daily in my studio in Bellagio, from the church in town below. The music is framed and interspersed with high five-note clusters which express something of the dissonant overtones of the bells.
