Programme note
Using the Seakhi rhythm 3+3+2 quavers which is similar to one of the Bulgarian rhythms employed by Bartók, while the melody permutates just two pitches D and E. The music is intercut, like a film, with material which gradually builds into scale-like figures, becoming evermore chromatic.
